DISCOVERSION e' un ciclo di serate dedicato alla dance-culture nelle sue multiformi versioni/visioni. Incursioni dalle parti del dancefloor, seguendo le tracce di suoni, mode, spazi, tempi e persone che ne hanno segnato la storia. La nuova edizione di questo anno si caratterizza come una serie di eventi scandita da temi ogni volta diversi e dai grandi nomi del djing italiano e straniero accompagnati dalle immagini dei migliori vj nazionali. Gli appuntamenti si articoleranno tra i due spazi principali del Centro Culturale Zo, caratterizzati da proposte artistiche ed atmosfere differenti: una sala dedicata al dancefloor, cuore pulsante della serata e del teatro dell'esibizione dei dj e dei live-acts; l'altra riservata al chill-out, ritmi piu' lenti e dimensione rilassata con allestimenti curati da giovani artisti catanesi performance, spettacoli, proiezioni e musica d'ambiente.
DISCOVERSION is a series of parties dedicated to the dance culture in its many-sided versions/visions. Forays in the dancefloor planet, following the sound/fashion/beat-tracks of those who left their mark in the story of music. This year's new edition is characterized by a series of events under always different themes and by the big names of Italian and foreign Djing together with the screenings by the best national Vjs.
The parties take place in the two main rooms of the Zo Cultural Centre, each characterized by different artistic proposals and atmospheres: The dancefloor room, core of the event and performing stage of Djs and live-acts, and the chill-out room, with slower rhythms and a relaxed dimension with dressings by young local artists, performances, shows, screenings and ambient music.
DISCOVERSION, ciclo di serate dedicato alla club-culture nelle sue multiformi versioni/visioni, giunto quest'anno alla seconda edizione, si avvia, dopo un' articolata panoramica (17 appuntamenti!) sulla variegata scena italiana con i suoi personaggi piu' rappresentativi, agitatori delle serate di punta nei migliori locali della penisola, conduttori di seguitissime trasmissioni radiofoniche, giornalisti di importanti testate specializzate, produttori discografici, e ospiti internazionali di prestigio (accompagnati dalle immagini dei migliori vj nazionali!), alla conclusione. I 17 appuntamenti, articolati tra i due spazi principali del Centro Culturale Zo, hanno riscosso un forte interesse da parte della stampa specializzata e non (Musica!/Repubblica, Alias/Manifesto, Rumore, Rockstar, Kult, Carnet, Trend, Uomo, Dove...), dalle principali trasmissioni radiofoniche italiane (Weekendance/Radio2Rai, B Side/RadioDeejay e WTTJ/Radio Italia Network) e, ciliegina sulla torta, dalla seguitissima emittente televisiva MTV.
DISCOVERSION, a set of parties dedicated to the dance culture in its many-sided versions/visions. This year arrived at its second edition, it is drawing to an end, after an articulated survey (made of 17 dates!) of the variegated italian scene with its most representative personalities: ringleaders of the coolest parties in the best clubs of the peninsula, hosts of trained radio programmes, journalists writing in authorative specialized newspapers, producers of the recording industry, and international prestigous guests (accompanied by the best italian vjs). The 17 dates, taking place in the two main spaces of the Centro Culturale Zo, have received a strong interest from the national press (such as Musica!/Repubblica, Alias/ Manifesto, Rumore, Rockstar, Kult, Carnet, Trend , Uomo, Dove...), the most prestigious Italian radio stations (such as Weekendance/Radio2Rai, B Side/Radio Deejay e WTTJ/Radio Italia Network) and, last but not least..., from the acclaimed Italian MTV.

Alessio Bertallot, voce notturna dell'etere radiofonico italiano, oltre ad essere un dj colto, e' anche una delle menti piu' innovative ed interessanti del panorama musicale nazionale. Dal 1996 conduce B SIDE un programma che abbraccia molta parte dell'orizzonte della Club Culture, in onda su RADIO DEEJAY, dal lunedi al giovedi, dalle 23.00 alle 1.00. In questi anni la sua trasmissione ha avuto il pregio di riuscire a raccontare con sensibilita' e competenza le trasformazioni di questo mondo, diventandone il punto di riferimento. Dj intellettuale dei piatti, ottimo esperto di buona parte della musica Dance Alternativa, Alessio Bertallot e' anche il responsabile di una rubrica sul settimanale Musica di Repubblica. Da quando si sono sciolti gli Aeroplanitaliani, gruppo da lui formato agli inizi degli anni '90, Alessio Bertallot ha affiancato alla sua attivita' radiofonica e giornalistica quella di dj, suonando nei club italiani piu' importanti per la scena alternativa, e all'estero (recentemente a Miami, nella prestigiosa occasione della Winter Music Conference). Nel suo ambito e' uno dei dj piu' richiesti, e le sue residenze (a Napoli al Velvet, ai Magazzini Generali di Milano), sono affollate e apprezzate anche dalla stampa estera specializzata. Il grande pubblico lo ha conosciuto come cantante nel 1992 al Festival di Sanremo con gli Aeroplanitaliani: il significativo silenzio di trenta secondi della canzone 'Zitti, zitti' e' rimasto impresso nella storia del Festival. Da allora, alternandosi fra radio, tv (MTV), attivita' giornalistiche e produzioni discografiche ha pubblicato diversi dischi: 'Poesie Fuoribordo', nel quale Bertallot ha tentato un crossover tra la poesia di Eugenio Montale, la canzone e l'improvvisazione jazz, e successivamente 'Non', il suo ultimo disco solista, un esperimento di convivenza di parola, poesia, basso e batteria. Dal 2000 ha iniziato la pubblicazione di una serie di compilation arditamente chiamate 'Bertallosophie', vere e proprie cronache dello stato della Club Culture internazionale. Quest'anno sara' il direttore artistico delle Heineken Nights di Umbria Jazz, la parte piu' attenta al futuro della storica manifestazione di Perugia.
Alessio Bertallot, a lone wolf of Italian radio broadcasting, is not only a dj but also one of the most innovative and interesting minds of the Italian music scene. Since 1996 he hosts B SIDE, a radio show dedicated to alternative music and to new music trends, broadcasted by RADIO DEEJAY, a major Italian radio network, Mondays to Thursdays 11.00 pm to 1.00 am. Since a few years his show has illustrated with sensitivity and expertise the transformations of the dance scene: from disco to the creative "labs" of music clubs. A deck magician, expert in breakbeat, drum n'bass and breakstep, Alessio Bertallot has also his own column in the weekly magazine Musica di Repubblica, from the publisher of one of the major Italian dailies. Since the Aereoplanitaliani, the group he formed in the '90, separated, Alessio Bertallot, besides his radio and journalistic engagements is a dj for the best Italian clubs. He played in Miami during the Winter Music Conference, and he also host 'Selecta' in Milano, at that time n.3 in Jokey Slut's worldwide clubs top chart. The general public got to know him in 1992 at the major Italian music festival in Sanremo, where the imaginative thirty-second silence of his 'Zitti, zitti' track has left his mark in the story of this show. Amongst his works also worthy of mention is a live recording project, called 'Poesie Fuoribordo' in which Bertallot attemps a crossover between the poetry of Eugenio Montale, Nobel laureate for literature, and jazz improvisation. Two CDs of his have recently come out: the first 'NON' is entirely his own production, while the second, 'B SIDE 2000' is a compilation from his radio show. In November last year V2 Records issued his new double compilation 'Bertallotsophie'.

B Side - 11 p.m. to 1 a.m. - Monday to Thursday
B Side is the radio show dedicated to alternative music and to new music trends, with special emphasis to alternative-dance and electronic music. With an average 300 thousand listeners per quarter hour, it is the evening radio show most listened to in Italy. Since 1996 it has presented new trends and outsiders, becoming a national music landmark. Hosted by Alessio Bertallot, a popular Italian musician, B Side is a live dj set with an unmistakable sound and atmosphere. B Side has also played host to the dj sets of great international artists such as Moby, Leftfield, DJ Shadow, Laurent Garnier, Basement Jaxx, DJ Krust & DJ Suv, Goldie, Gotan Project, Llorca, Osunlade, Faithless, Groove Armada, Michael Franti, Ursula Rucker, Gilles Peterson and many others.
